with the dragon
Our fears are like dragons guarding our deepest treasures. – Rainer Maria Rilke
Find a quiet comfortable place inside or out in nature, sit down, close your eyes and focus on your breath, simply breathe in and out following the inhalation and exhalation of your breath, try elongating the breathe.
Once you feel calm and relaxed, feel into the area of your body that might be where you are holding tension and or uncomfortable feelings, inquire a little deeper, how do they feel, what sort of vibration, density, color, shape, and size? Does it feel like it belongs in your body or perhaps intrusive something intangible, sitting, looming like a dense cloud of energy?
Now take your awareness to your breath and breathe gently into this area of your body where you have located the feeling and allow each breath to go a little deeper, breathing into and dissolving, releasing with your out- breath, like a balm and as you inhale into your chest watch how your lungs expand with a sense of relief in your body as you release the breath.
As you start you may feel more discomfort, allow and rather than react, fight or flight, push away and run away gently look at it with kindness, what is it telling you, what are your fears that scare you, be with it, sit with it, breath with it and keep your breath long and calm, observe and let surface so that you can with ease and gentle kindness work through, learn and let it go.
Perhaps all the dragons in our lives are princesses who are only waiting to see us act, just once, with beauty and courage. Perhaps everything that frightens us is, in its deepest essence, something helpless that wants our love.– Rainer Maria Rilke
Questions to ask yourself.
What is this feeling?
Where is it in my body?
How does it feel?
Is it a familuar feeling?
Does it realte to another feeling is that a regular feeling I have?
Is there a recogniseable pattern?
What triggered it?
Who triggered it?
Was it a dream I had?
Where was I before I felt like this?
Is this based on my high or low expectations?
Is my higher self trying to tell me something that I need to get on with but my have forgot?
Who am I most of the time, who is my true me and am I happy with myself?
Do I know what I am doing in my life, do I feel purposeful does my time feel fulfilled? Do I feel fulfilled?
What have I achieved and what do I want or expect to achieve and in what time frame?
Perhaps I can take stock and aknowledge how far I have come instead of self critism?
Am I always looking to the next thing to achieve?
